Gamma Technologies, LLC, established in 1994, is headquartered in Westmont, Illinois (a west suburb of Chicago). GT develops, markets, and sells an engineering simulation software, GT-SUITE, which is the software of choice for more than 600 leading corporations worldwide, including Mercedes, BMW, VW, Toyota, Nissan, GM and Ford.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a creative, talented and highly motivated User Experience Specialist (a.k.a. Software Business Analyst) to help our customers get the most out of our software and to leverage the knowledge learned from these interactions to continuously improve our software. GT-SUITE comprises a state-of-the-art systems simulation solver encompassing libraries of fluid dynamic, mechanical, thermal and electromagnetic sub-models plus a sophisticated set of user interfaces including map-based and 3D-based pre- and post-processors.
Specifically, we are specifically looking to add someone to our user-experience team. This team supports the development of our user interface which incorporates both model building and analysis tools supporting a variety of user interaction and data analysis capabilities, including collaboration features for exchanging data and models in larger organizations. Due to the close linking of our UI with complex physical systems, it is important that the candidate have a very strong technical capability. This is not a development position, however very close interaction with developers would be required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with coworkers and customers to understand UI design requirements and translate into technical designs
- Coordinate the development process of new features, working with developers clarify requirements
- Ensure quality features by testing, documenting, and maintaining UI capabilities
- Internally and externally address questions and problems with UI features, escalating to developers as needed
Essential Qualifications:
- BS or BA in Engineering, Computer Science, or other similar technical degrees with a minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0
Additional Qualifications Desired:
- Experience with supporting development of other software used in the engineering industry
- Experience with PLM Software, such as Siemens TeamCenter or IBM Rational
- Experience with Agile development methods
