Job Duties

Staff Engineers, R&D for Westmont, IL location. Lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of engineering software interfaces with CFD tools to achieve robust and efficient co-simulation with GT SUITE. Apply comprehensive knowledge of GT-SUITE simulation functionality with regard to CFD in automotive engines and other mechanical processes to lead projects aimed at improving the product’s core solver infrastructure. Guide, direct, and mentor other R&D Engineers in supporting customers with co-simulation challenges between GT-SUITE and other CFD tools. Use customer feedback and interactions to lead the design and testing of new interfaces to CFD tools. Serve as lead product developer of GT-Auto-3DFlow, a new addition to the GT-SUITE portfolio—an efficient, accurate, and user-friendly 3D approach for modeling vehicle underhood environments. Develop, test, and maintain software infrastructure enabling GT-SUITE users to implement custom user routines in Python, C, C++, and Fortran. Technical environment: GT-SUITE; engaging with customers, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues involving computer-aided engineering simulation software; C++; Python; C; Fortran.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus three years of experience in computer-aided engineering required. Required Skills: GT-SUITE or comparable software; engaging with customers, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues involving computer-aided engineering simulation software; C++; Python; C; Fortran. Some telecommuting permitted. Periodic minimal travel to customer sites, trade shows, and industry conferences required. $104,874-123,070 /yr.
