Job Duties

Senior Staff Engineers for Westmont, IL location. Develop solutions to assist customers in advancing their simulation capability and thereby reduce reliance on testing. Assist customers in their use of engineering software to design and analyze conventional and electrified vehicles and their subsystems. Use customer feedback and interaction to design and test new product features related to complete vehicle modeling and its controls. Carry out proof-of-concept projects to demonstrate cutting edge software solutions to prospective customers in vehicle electrification. Research, Design, Prototype and Test various solutions that help improve vehicle and controls coupling capabilities. Perform electrified powertrain performance simulation & energy analysis. Technical skills: large OEM or Tier 1 manufacturers performing simulations of complete vehicles and hybrid-electric powertrains; fuel economy, performance, and energy management simulation, incorporating legislatively required protocols; control systems for engines and hybrid powertrains; collecting and preparing data used in simulations; Python, GT-SUITE, or MATLAB.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field plus eight years of experience in engineering simulation required. Required Skills: experience at large OEM or Tier 1 manufacturers performing simulations of complete vehicles and hybrid-electric powertrains; fuel economy, performance, and energy management simulation, incorporating legislatively required protocols; control systems for engines and hybrid powertrains; collecting and preparing data used in simulations; Python, GT-SUITE, or MATLAB. Some telecommuting permitted Periodic minimal travel to customer sites, trade shows, and industry conferences required. $122,221-141,286/yr.
