Accountant

Growing software development company in the Western Suburbs seeks a bright, motivated Accountant.  This position will report directly to the Controller with a high degree of visibility to the CFO and other company executives.

Routine tasks will include:

  • posting of activity for German subsidiary and agent in Japan/China/Korea
  • posting of daily invoices
  • sales tax reporting in several states
  • processing of online vendor payments and 3rd party royalty calculations
  • in-house monthly payroll processing and management of ADP time/attendance PTO accruals
  • bank and account reconciliations
  • maintenance of deferred revenue schedules
  • calculation of monthly book/tax depreciation

Since June, as a result of Private Equity investment, the company now also has several new reporting requirements.  The Accountant will have specific tasks/deadlines related to month-end close and will be called upon to prepare well-documented workpapers for the year-end audit and tax return filings.

Minimum requirements for this job are:

  • B.S. in Accountancy from an accredited 4 year university (Not online) with demonstrated classroom excellence. CPA certificate a plus, but not required
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience, including month-end close processes and deadlines
  • MS Excel and Word proficiency
  • Must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Additionally the ideal candidate will:

  • Have familiarity with QuickBooks
  • Have experience with ERP software
  • Be meticulous
  • Be able to identify problems AND offer solutions
  • Have a strong work ethic; i.e.-do what it takes to get the job done both accurately and on-time
