Company: Gamma Technologies Inc. develops and licenses GT-SUITE, an engineering software used for simulating vehicle systems and engines. The company consists of approximately 70 employees, located in Westmont IL (Chicago suburbs). GTI was incorporated in 1994 and has experienced stable growth and consistent profitability, even during the recent economic crisis in the automotive industry. GTI is privately held with all of the founders still actively involved.
Product: GT-SUITE is the leading software in the automotive industry for engine simulation with over 80% market share worldwide for engine simulations. GT-SUITE is also used for a variety of other automotive applications including hybrid electric drivelines, exhaust emissions chemistry, acoustics, air conditioning, and fuel injection.
Markets: GT-SUITE is used by over 500 organizations worldwide, including nearly every major automotive OEM (BMW, Chrysler, Ford, Fiat, GM, Harley Davidson, Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes, Nissan, Renault, Toyota, VW, Volvo, Yamaha, etc.). GT-SUITE is also widely used in the trucking, racing, agriculture, and construction, marine and off-road industries.
Product Development: GTI is known for high quality product development and support and close collaboration with its customers when developing and validating new software capabilities. We are looking for individuals to help us keep and improve this reputation as described below.
Software Testing, and Internal Support (IT): GTI is currently seeking candidates for a full time position, or potentially part-time with transition to full-time at graduation within the next 6 months, to aid in our software development process. Responsibilities of the position are diverse, including:
- GUI software testing, both manual and automated.
- IT (servers, hardware, network, automated backups, some web, etc.).
- maintenance of existing automated testing software and implementation of new capabilities.
- automated software building and subsequent quality control tests and failure notification.
- installation programs (both in-house and commercial)
- release engineering, including versioning and final product preparation
Our GUI testing is currently performed by our mechanical engineering staff, but we would like to have someone to specialize in this and to add automation. Our IT responsibilities are currently shared by 4 skilled and experienced individuals and we have needs to grow this team as well. A person joining our company would be closely mentored by a senior engineer and would also learn from other colleagues.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology / Information Technology or similar degree program with a minimum GPA of 3.4. Alternatively, a BS degree in another engineering, science, or math major with a GPA of 3.4 plus demonstrate equivalent experience of an IT degree.
Desirable Experience: Software Testing, Automated Build Systems, General Programming, Scripting (Perl, Bash, Windows), Familiarity with Linux, Networking, Hardware.
