Senior Software Engineer: 3D Modeling

GT develops, markets, and sells an engineering simulation software, GT-SUITE, which is the software of choice for more than 600 leading corporations worldwide, including Mercedes, BMW, VW, Toyota, Nissan, GM and Ford. 

 Position Summary:

We are looking for a creative, talented and highly motivated software developer to join our 3D software development team. The task is to create innovative graphical solutions for engineers and to transform 3D CAD objects into mathematical engineering models of fluid flow and mechanical components.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support complex desktop 3D graphics applications
  • Design and implement new software components and feature enhancements
  • Collaborate  with application engineers on new requirements and application design
  • Follow company software development processes and standards
  • Study new technology and remain technically current

 Essential Qualifications:

  • MS degree in Computer Science or related fields with minimum GPA of 3.3/4.0
  • Programming experience with either Java or C++
  • Experience with Java Swing or equivalent GUI technology
  • Experience with 3D graphics libraries, either  Open GL or DirectX
  • Must possess a collaborative/team oriented work approach
  • Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skill
  • Ability to work independently, as well as work collaboratively with colleagues

Additional Qualifications Desired:

  • Familiar with UML, Object-Oriented-Design (OOD), Design Patterns and large-scale software development
  • Basic understanding of 3D math
  • Basic knowledge of 3D technologies, including transformation, texture mapping, etc.
