Senior Fluid/Thermal Solver Developer

Position Summary

We are looking for a creative, talented and highly motivated software developer to join our flow/thermal solver development group. The applicant will be involved in the development of GT-SUITE, a sophisticated desktop software package for simulating almost any kind of engineering multi-physics system, such as those arising in the automotive, aerospace and other industries, involving fluid, thermal, mechanical, acoustics, electromagnetics, chemistry and controls elements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and test advanced mathematical models of fluid and thermal system models involving equations governing compressible and incompressible reactive fluid dynamics, heat transfer, phase change, and thermophysical properties of gases and liquids
  • Develop numerical algorithms to simulate air conditioning and heating systems including conditions inside the cabin and two-phase refrigeration loop
  • Prepare and execute a validation plan for new features
  • Develop and optimize solvers to implement new technologies

Essential Qualifications

  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum GPA of 3.6/4.0
  • 2+ years of professional and/or graduate-level experience with solver development for CFD and Thermal analysis solvers
  • Experience with Windows, Linux and Mac
  • Numerical methods
  • Computational fluid dynamics
  • Experience with finite volume and finite element methods
  • Thermal Analysis

Additional Qualifications Desired

  • Fortran/C/C++
  • Experience with NIST REFPROP
  • Experience with boiling/evaporation/condensation models
  • Familiarity with CAD
  • Experience software parallelization and optimization tools
