Senior Financial Analyst

The Senior Financial Analyst is a valuable role within the organization working closely with Accounting, Sales, and Senior Management to provide timely and accurate reporting of global revenues and related analysis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop rolling revenue forecast with focus on agent revenue channel.
  • Determine impact of strategic pricing initiatives from executive team.
  • Analyze data from various sources to infer, predict and recommend relevant and actionable insights pertaining to revenue maximization.
  • Review and approve all customer sales orders prior to invoicing
  • Participation in sales quoting process, including quotes with complex pricing schemes.
  • Development of annual budget.
  • Development of monthly budget vs. actual GAAP revenue measurement to complement bookings analysis.
  • Develop and implement a consistent and best of breed set of templates, related methodology for preparation of annual budget, reports and analyses for management to utilize.
  • Lead monthly revenue closing process. Coordinate timing of invoicing with accounting staff.
  • Monthly revenue recognition: Perform reconciliations to ensure revenue is properly recorded.
  • Roll forward of recurring revenue by category. Show how much revenue is from new customers, additional licenses, existing customers, upsells, down sells, churn, etc.
  • Assist sales management enhance their pipeline reporting in Salesforce.
  • Calculate quarterly commissions payments. Develop tools to manage this process efficiently.
  • Design, document, deploy and maintain analytical reports utilizing data manipulation techniques to track KPIs.
  • Work with outside consultants to sharpen the tools currently used to create sales metrics data in the ERP system. Explore automation of certain KPI’s.
  • Continue to enhance existing KPI data capture and reporting through improvements and introduction of new ideas
  • Develop industry market analysis and leader indicator KPT’s for executive and board level consumption.
  • Prepare analysis for inclusion in quarterly board materials.
  • Perform revenue analysis for monthly executive financial reporting package. Work with CFO and senior management to provide understanding of variances, trends, and opportunities.
  • Involvement in any potential M&A activity.
  • Monthly data validation / reconciliation between ERP and Salesforce.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis for CFO and executive team
  • Work with controller and accounting staff to implement process improvements to provide more timely recognition of revenue in general ledger.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

  • BS in accounting or finance.
  • Working knowledge of ASC606 revenue recognition standard.
  • Revenue modeling
  • Ability to process large amounts of data into meaningful and actionable metrics.
  • 5 – 7 years of experience.
  • Creative, curious, and critical thinker who enjoys process improvement and problem solving.
  • Experience interacting and influencing all levels of the organization with confidence by building trust and rapport.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:

  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP system preferred. Knowledge of NetSuite’s ARM module desirable.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook skills.
