Job Duties
Senior Engineers, R&D for Westmont, IL location. Develop and enhance computational fluid dynamics solver as a part of a commercial software tool. Develop advanced mathematical models for cabin heating and cooling. Enhance and develop new quasi-three-dimensional flow models for vehicle cabin and one-dimensional two-phase refrigerant flow models for vehicle air conditioning systems. Research novel numerical techniques to speed-up the solver and improve its accuracy. Develop and test advanced mathematical models and computational schemes for flow and thermal systems involving: compressible and incompressible flows, fluid turbomachinery, heat transfer, phase change (evaporation and condensation), thermophysical properties of gases and liquids, air conditioning and heating systems including conditions inside the cabin and two-phase refrigeration loop. Update existing solvers to incorporate new technologies Technical environment: solver development for flow or thermal analysis solvers; design and analysis of fluid turbomachinery using 0-D and quasi-3-D tool; Programming using Fortran, C, C++, and Python; Numerical methods; computational geometries and meshes; Linux development; TecPlot, Paraview, and HDF5 for post-processing.
