Job Responsibilities
- Develop and test advanced mathematical models of fluid and thermal system models in engine and powertrain systems, involving equations governing compressible and incompressible fluid dynamics, heat transfer and thermophysical properties of gases and liquids.
- Develop numerical algorithms to solve the coupled convection, diffusion and reaction equation mechanisms for catalyst systems for on-road and off-road aftertreatment applications for internal combustion engines.
- Develop global reaction kinetics for compact catalyst used in automotive industry.
- Develop advance combustion and emissions models for internal combustion engines.
- Integrate models of advanced catalyst system into engine simulation software for the design, analysis and development of low emissions and high efficiency engines.
- Tools: Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) with focus on heat transfer, multi-phase flows, turbulence, turbomachinery, diffusion and reactions in catalytic reactors; Finite Element (FEA) and finite volume with focus on flow, heat and mass transfer, chemical reactions; C/C++, Fortran, Matlab, applied numerical analysis methods.
