Senior Engineer: Aftertreatment Modeling

Position Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate to join our aftertreatment modeling group. The applicant will be involved in the development of mathematical models for various aftertreatment reactors (TWC, DOC, SCR, LNT, AOC, DPF, GPF, etc.). This position requires good understanding of physical chemistry, kinetics, and numerical methods.

Job responsibilities:

  • Develop mathematical models of various physical and chemical processes occurring inside the aftertreatment reactors
  • Develop global kinetics models for different catalyst formulations
  • Develop protocols for carrying out experiments
  • Calibrate models with measured data
  • Implement new models into the GT-SUITE software
  • Publish in scientific journals

Essential Qualifications:

  • PhD in Chemical engineering or any other area relevant to this position
  • Minimum GPA of 3.6/4.0
  • 2+ years of professional and/or graduate-level experience in modeling and simulation
  • Experience with chemical kinetics
  • Experience with any of the programming languages like FORTRAN, C, C++, etc.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience modeling of coupled heterogeneous reaction and diffusion modeling
  • Knowledge in Physical Chemistry
  • Knowledge in automotive catalyst and filter modeling and/or measurements
