We are looking for an intelligent, hard-working, and self-starting application engineer to help our customers get the most out of our software and to leverage the knowledge learned from these interactions to continuously improve our software. Gamma Technologies makes GT-SUITE, a sophisticated CAE package used by every major engine and vehicle OEM in the world to simulate engine and vehicle performance. GT-SUITE comprises a state-of-the-art systems simulation solver encompassing libraries of fluid dynamic, mechanical, thermal and electromagnetic sub-models plus a sophisticated set of user interfaces including map-based and 3D-based pre- and post-processors. We are specifically looking to add someone to our engine mechanics application team. This team supports customers that model engine mechanical systems, including cranktrain, valvetrain, timing and accessory drives. This application team is also involved in general multi-body dynamics, friction and tribology modeling. Engineers in this position regularly interact with engineers from the most technologically advanced companies in the world, including Daimler, GM, Ford and Toyota, and assist them in modeling advanced concepts. Job Responsibilities
- Assist customers that use our software to design and analyze their systems
- Carry out proof-of-concept projects to demonstrate the software’s capability to prospective customers
- Use customer feedback and interaction to design and test new product features
- Teach training classes on use of the software
Basic Qualifications
- MS or BS degree in mechanical engineering (or similar) with minimum GPA of 3.5
- New college graduates or experienced engineers are welcome
- Ability to travel up to four weeks annually, including international travel
- Experience with Specialized Engine Mechanics Tools (e.g AVL, Ricardo, IAV CAE tools)
- Experience with 3D MBD Software (e.g MSC ADAMS, SIMPACK)
- Experience with Flexible Bodies, Finite Element methods and tools
- Experience with engine mechanics , including machine design, measurement and instrumentation, controls, SAE projects (FormulaSAE, BajaSAE, Future Car, etc.), or automotive rebuilding
