Position Summary:
We are looking for a creative, talented and self-starting application engineer to join our Support and Applications Group to help our customers get the most out of our software and to leverage the knowledge learned from these interactions to continuously improve our software. Gamma Technologies develops GT-SUITE, a sophisticated desktop software package for simulating almost any kind of engineering multi-physics system, such as those arising in the automotive, aerospace and other industries, involving fluid, thermal, mechanical, acoustics, electromagnetics, chemistry and controls elements. It also utilizes a sophisticated set of user interfaces including map-based and 3D-based pre- and post-processors.
You would join our mechanics application team whose focus is on modeling of mechanical systems, including crank-train, valve-train and timing and accessory drives. This application team is also involved in general multi-body dynamics, friction and tribology modeling. Job Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in their use our software to design and analyze their systems
- Use customer feedback and interaction to design and test new product features
- Carry out proof-of-concept projects to demonstrate the software’s capability to prospective customers
- Teach training classes on use of the software
- Opportunity for travel internationally, including Europe and occasionally Asia
- Essential Qualifications:
- MS or BS degree in mechanical engineering (or similar) with minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0
- New college graduates or experienced engineers are welcome
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as work collaboratively with colleagues
Additional Qualifications Desired:
- Experience with mechanical system simulation software such as GT-SUITE, EXCITE, VALDYN, etc.
- Experience with 3D MBD Software (e.g MSC ADAMS, SIMPACK)
- Experience with FEA Software (e.g. ANSYS, NASTRAN, ABAQUS)
- Experience with hydraulics and/or vehicles, including design, measurement and instrumentation, controls, SAE projects (FormulaSAE, BajaSAE, Future Car, etc.), or automotive rebuilding
