Gamma Technologies, LLC (GT) is looking for a Senior Applications Engineer with transmission and geartrain experience, especially for NVH applications, to join its mechanical applications team. This team supports customers who model mechanics of vehicle powertrains, full 3D vehicle systems and other machinery such as electric motors, pumps, and compressors. This application team is involved with modeling multi-body dynamics, vibrations/noise, friction, and tribology in such systems. Engineers in this position regularly interact with engineers from the most technologically advanced companies in the world and assist them in modeling advanced concepts. Position Summary
The Senior Application Engineer partners with GT customers to maximize the usage and value of our software and leverage these customer insights into future product enhancements.
Job Responsibilities
- Work with customers to assist them with their applications of GT’s software
- Incorporate customer insights and feedback into the design and testing of new product features
- Facilitate customer trainings
- Lead and contribute to consulting projects
- Assure quality control of the product
- Conduct independent research aimed at designing and defining new software features and functionality
Education, Experience and Skills
- MSME or similar degree preferred; BSME required
- 3 years’ relevant work experience
- Technical expertise and specialization in any of the following areas, used to support customers and engage prospective customers via pilot projects:
- Gear Design
- NVH
- Multi-Body Dynamics
- Flexible bodies
Desired Skills
- Experience with the following:
- 3D MBD software (e.g., MSC Adams, Simpack)
- Flexible Bodies, Finite Element methods and tools (e.g., Abaqus, Altair, Ansys, Nastran).
- Transmission and geartrain applications, research, and/or commercial software tools (e.g., Romax, Masta)
- Engine/Vehicle Simulation software such as GT-SUITE, AMESim or other CAE and simulation tools including Matlab/Simulink.
- Powertrains and/or Engines, including design, measurement and instrumentation, controls, and SAE projects (e.g., FormulaSAE, BajaSAE, Future Car, etc.), or automotive rebuilding
