Gamma Technologies, LLC is looking for mechanical engineering summer interns to work in the Product and Application Engineering team for summer 2017. GT develops and supports GT-SUITE software, which is the leading thermos-fluid and mechanical system simulation CAE tool world-wide, used throughout the automotive industry, as well as other industries such as aerospace, power generation, agriculture, etc.
The mechanical engineering intern could be involved in a variety of activities related to supporting GT-SUITE, including some or all of the following:
- Learning fundamental simulation skills with GT-SUITE.
- Testing and documenting new features implemented in the software. This may include both physical modeling analysis or issues related to usability of the software.
- Creation of example system models to duplicate existing system data to validate specific sub-models, or to generate useful models that could ship with the software.
- Project work with the software and external analysis to establish behavior patterns, sensitivity, and baselines. Such studies may precede software development or may be used in conjunction with software testing to ensure valid behavior.
- Simple coding of scripts to automate or otherwise improve internal processes.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATONS
- Mechanical Engineering major
- Active enrollment in a BS or MS degree program
- Completion of 2nd year (sophomore) by the start of the internship period.
- 3.5 / 4.0 or higher GPA
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Interest in automobile engineering
- Hands-on experience in working with cars and other mechanical systems.Experience and/or interest in simulation and physical modeling
