Gamma Technologies develops, markets, and sells engineering simulation software called GT-SUITE. GT-SUITE is used by over 600 companies including all leading OEMs around the world. GT-SUITE comprises a state-of-the-art systems simulation solver encompassing libraries of fluid dynamic, mechanical, thermal and electromagnetic sub-models plus a sophisticated set of user interfaces including map-based and 3D-based pre- and post-processors. Our software aids in the design and optimization of products in many industries, including Automotive, Agriculture, Off-Highway Vehicles, Aerospace, Power Generation, Marine and Rail, and Industrial Machinery.

Position Summary:

The primary focus will be in the areas of computer operations, user and desktop support (hardware and software), helpdesk, and data management. The IT System Administrator performs a variety of moderately complex information technology support duties. Monitors, operates, or coordinates and assists others in the operation of computer hardware, software, and peripherals in order to achieve desired results. Utilizes computer equipment, software and diagnostic tools to perform a broad range of assistance. Equipment maintenance and repair, and computer operations assignments. Updates supervisor on status of projects or technical issues. Exercises judgment and in selecting and applying procedures correctly, and determines when to refer problems to the supervisor or next level of support.

Essential Functions:

  • Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems.
  • Test programs, both GT-Suite and In-house tools.
  • Oversee the daily performance of computer systems.
  • Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
  • Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software.
  • Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
  • Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities.
  • Install and perform minor update and repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
  • Prepare evaluations of software or hardware and recommend improvements or upgrades.
  • Purchase new hardware and software as per group requirements.
  • Maintain inventory which includes retiring and proper disposal of old hardware.

Education and Experience:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.4 out of 4.0
  • Familiarity with Windows Active Directory, and GPO implementation
  • Familiarity with Linux, Windows, Networking (LAN and WAN)
  • Self-starter and fast learner with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Technology Skills:

  • Software Testing, Automated Build Systems, General Programming, Scripting (Perl, Python Bash, Windows PowerShell), Familiarity with Linux, Networking, Hardware, and experience in customer service.
  • Windows server imaging tools. Familiar with ticketing systems, Windows platform applications, and Active Directory.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook – Proficient level
