GT develops, markets, and sells engineering simulation software called GT-SUITE. GT-SUITE is used by over 600 companies including all leading OEMs around the world. GT-SUITE comprises a state-of-the-art systems simulation solver encompassing libraries of fluid dynamic, mechanical, thermal and electromagnetic sub-models plus a sophisticated set of user interfaces including map-based and 3D-based pre- and post-processors. Position Summary
You will join our mechanical application team which actively develops kinematic and multi-body dynamics models of engine systems, including cranktrain, valvetrain, timing and accessory drives. This application team is also involved in general multi-body dynamics, friction and tribology modeling of various systems. Your role will be to assist application engineers in developing example models, tutorials and testing new features in GT-SUITE. You should be highly organized and detail-oriented, with outstanding analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you can work effectively with minimal oversight, while also functioning well in a team environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Carry out proof-of-concept projects to test the software’s capability.
- Use customer feedback and test results to correlate and validate new product features.
- Prepare tutorials and training material.
Education, Experience and Skills
- Currently in the Junior or Senior year of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, applied math, or any related field
- Interest in mechanical system kinematics, dynamics and design
- Strong interest and background in computational modeling and/or mathematics
- Internship can be started at any time of the year
