GTI is offering internship opportunities to Mechanical, Chemical or Aerospace engineering graduate level students. GTI is the developer of GT-SUITE, a sophisticated desktop software package for simulating engine and vehicle performance. It is quite broad in scope, spanning model building, 3D solid modeling and graphics. It is capable of performing a wide range of multi-physics simulations (fluid, thermal, acoustics, electromagnetics, chemical and controls) of systems in the automotive industry.
Job Responsibilities
- Working with advanced mathematical models of fluid, thermal, mechanical and control system models applied to engine and powertrain applications
- Testing and validating new feature in GTSUITE using published data
- May be asked to develop validate subsystem models for phenomenon in engine and vehicle applications involving reactive turbulent flows, fluid/solid interactions, conjugate heat transfer
- Writing and/or improving users manuals
- Create new example models to showcase GTSUITE capabilities
Basic Qualifications
- Mechanical, Chemical or Aerospace graduate student
- Minimum GPA of 3.75 (in last completed degree) and 3.85 in the current program
- 1+ years of professional and/or graduate-level experience in simulation code development
- Experience with C, C++ and Fortran
Highly Desirable Qualifications
- Interest in automobile engineering
- Hands-on experience in working with cars and other mechanical systems)
- Experience and/or interest in simulation and physical modeling
