Growing software development company in Western Suburbs needs a bright, motivated, leader to take over accounting responsibilities. This position will report directly to the CFO and have a staff of two, including a staff accountant and accounting assistant.
Currently, the company has ~80 employees, a subsidiary in Germany and several global relationships with agents/consultants. In addition to the usual accounting tasks associated with running a global business, there is a transfer pricing agreement in place with respect to the German operation, an annual R&D credit calculation and tax filing requirements in 7 states, including Illinois. As a pro-active organization, there are also ongoing accounting/compliance projects each year.
Due to recent organizational changes, there will be several new challenges as follows:
- Conversion to GAAP accounting
- Monthly financial reporting packages
- Quarterly reporting requirements
- New accounting system implementation
- Multi-entity accounting
- Annual financial audit
The new Accounting Manager will be heavily involved in each of these areas and additionally be asked to help manage certain HR related tasks and have an interest in the business side of things, such as customer quoting /software licensing support.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have an accounting degree and be a CPA
- Have several years of experience, including time spent on tasks listed above as “new challenges”
- Be meticulous
- Be able to identify problems AND offer solutions
- Have a strong work ethic; i.e.-do what it takes to get the job done both accurately and on-time
- Be comfortable in a leadership position; i.e.- able to make good judgments and decisions
