We explore the benefits of system engineering when the modeling can be achieved at different fidelities and discuss some exciting real world engineering applications.

Divya Thiagarajan, PhD, is a Senior Staff R&D Engineer at Gamma Technologies in the Fluids and Heat Transfer Development team. She works on expanding the development of GT-SUITE features in the area of thermal management with a focus on thermal finite element modeling. She joined GT in April 2018 shortly after completing her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. Outside of work, Divya loves running, playing board games and is an avid Formula 1 fan.
Ahmed Abouhussein, PhD, is a Senior R&D Engineer at Gamma Technologies in the Fluids and Heat Transfer Development team. He works on a diverse range of topics related to fluid flow and characterization such as pressure loss modeling in rotating equipment, real gas modeling, and phase change calculations. He joined GT in January 2023 shortly after completing his Ph.D. from Arizona State University. Outside work, Ahmed is a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, enjoys Disney trivia, literature, and soccer.
Lalit Patidar, PhD, is a Staff R&D Engineer in the Reactive Flow Team at Gamma Technologies . With a passion for thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, transport phenomena, and machine learning, he works on expanding the capabilities of GT-SUITE in the area of reactive flow systems. After obtaining a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State, he joined GT in January 2020.
Beyond work, he is deeply engaged in discussions about climate change, energy, and decarbonization, sharing insights on LinkedIn and a personal blog. An avid sports enthusiast, he enjoys cricket and volleyball, and unwinds by hiking in nature. Through both professional endeavors and personal interests, he is committed to advancing technology while addressing crucial environmental challenges.
