Application Engineer, Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Technology (m/f/d)

Gamma Technologies, GmbH (GT) is looking for an Application Engineer, Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Technology to solve complex challenges involving electrochemical energy conversion and storage devices with a solid work ethic, excellent judgment, and a desire to build a long-term career with us.  

Position Summary 

As a part of our Reactive Flow System Applications Engineering Group, you will be tasked with ensuring our customers get the most out of our software suite and leveraging customer insights to continuously enhance our product offerings.  

We are particularly aiming to expand our Hydrogen/Fuel Cell related activities. This team assists our clients in using our GT-SUITE software platform to simulate the operation of fuel cells, balance of plant systems, electrolyzers, and hydrogen storage and supply systems. 

We’re seeking an engaged, motivated, and autonomous person to assist our European team in Stuttgart, Germany, and our worldwide operations.  

Job Responsibilities 

  • Assist customers in their use of our software to design and simulate fuel cell systems (as well as related technologies like electrolyzers, or flow batteries), including stack and BoP (Balance of Plant) design, and controls. 
  • Use customer feedback and interactions to design and test new product features relating to fuel cells (and related technologies). 
  • Carry out proof-of-concept projects to demonstrate cutting-edge software solutions to prospective customers. 
  • Interact with established and emerging automotive companies through training classes, conferences, and marketing events. 
  • Evangelize the critical role Gamma Technologies plays in helping automotive companies on the Road to Zero Carbon. 
  • Periodically travel to customer sites and industry trade shows, both domestically and internationally. 

Education, Experience, and Skills 

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: 

  • Ph.D. in Engineering or related fields is required or a Master’s Degree with 3+ years of industry experience. 
  • Professional and/or graduate-level experience with fuel cell (or related technology) design, analysis, and/or control.
  • Experience with CAE tools, such as GT-SUITE, Amesim, Dymola, AVL CRUISE M, Simulink, or Modelon Impact is a plus. 
  • Self-starter and fast learner with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 
  • Helpful and kind attitude with a strong customer focus. 
  • Self-organizing working mindset.  
  • Interest in engineering challenges and related development processes. 
  • Very good English language skills written and spoken. 
  • Good German language skills written and spoken.
